Total Hip Replacement Rehabilitation Program.

Jack is a 10 year old Black Lab with a striking personality and a right total hip replacement approximately 4 years ago. His owners brought him into therapy after they noticed he was limping more on his non surgical leg and they suspected his left hip may need a replacement as well. After a thorough evaluation, I concluded he was limping on his left because his right leg was still very weak so he was over using his left to compensate. We put Jack on a plan of soft tissue work, dry needling and stretching of both his hind limbs and his spine. Once his stiffness and inflammation started to resolve, we put him onto the incline tradmill and began weight training.

Jack Weight Training.

Jack is now one of my strongest dogs and his enthusiasm for pulling weight for treats knows no bounds! He is once again playing fetch on the weekends and continuing to get stronger with therapy! Go Jack!
